Helping a disadvantaged child with their reading increases their confidence and learning outcomes dramatically. Improving their reading skills can help a disadvantaged child engage better in class and keep up with their more advantaged peers.

• Provide children who are behind in their reading with a skilled and experienced reading buddy who will encourage and support them.
